Mr Bilal Aslam was recently awarded the position of MSc researcher with Shannon ABC. He received his Degree in Biotechnology from the Waterford Institute of Technology (WIT) and completed his BSc (H) in Applied Biology with Quality Management, also at WIT. Read full story

NutraMara Conference, 2012

Dr Shane O’Connell and Mr Patrick Quille attended the recent NutraMara Conference, held in the Dublin on the 25 th and 26 th April. NutraMara, a consortium consisting of National University of Ireland Galway, University College Dublin, University College Cork, University of Ulster, Coleraine, University of Limerick and Teagasc Food Research Centre, Ashtown & Moorepark, was established as a multidisciplinary programme aimed at discovering bioactive components from Irish marine sources for use in added value functional food products. Dr Gillespie was previously Head of the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development’s (OECD) Science and Technology Policy Division, and prior to that the OECD’s Biotechnology Division (2001-2011).
